a unique collection of handwritten and typed records compiled by Captain J.N. Conolly during U.S. Government testing of 7 machine guns in 1917 at the Springfield Armory. Period photos of all 7 included. There is also a color cut-away of the Lewis gun. Also includes: notes on early tanks, WWI artillery, mechanized U.S. Calvary warfare. Includes: notes on assembly, disassembly ballistics, durability, etc. of the 7 guns. Final report in government archives but not the original raw data reports which these are. Notes go up to 1924 and need to be collated.
