Munich marks, 1840 date marks, Mayrhofer maker's mark, French import mark; in the Neo-Classical style, rectangular pedestal foot, with gadrooned border, supporting conforming openwork body of griffins and scrolling foliage, with silver-gilt insert, includes two salt spoons with the heraldic monogram of Eugene de Beauharnais, Viceroy of Italy, Duke of Leuchtenberg and son of Josephine Beauharnais; 1 3/4 in. H., 3 1/4 in., 2 5/8 in. D.; 16.1 ozt.
Condition
Three salts with slightly dented corner of foot rim; some tiny spots of pitting.
