Stevens Thomson Mason (1760-1803, Revolutionary War officer, U.S. Senator representing Northern Virginia, 1794-1803) Original autograph letter signed, dated at Raspberry Plain, Loudoun Co., Va., January 6, 1795, to fellow Virginia Senator Henry Tazewell; 1 1/2 pp., 4to, with integral cover sheet, rated "Free." Mason, newly-elected to fill the seat resigned by James Monroe, writes of continuing illness which prevents him from travelling to Philadelphia. He asks Tazewell to keep him informed of the business of the Senate
