By Ford, New York. Large presentational and ornate example of liturgical silver, the circular form with deep well, the border finely engraved with scrolling foliage surrounding an inscription in Gothic font reading "All That Is In The Heaven And In The Earth Is Thine," and applied with gilt quatrefoil medallions set with gemstones including amethyst, citrine, agate and others, applied rope-twist rim, the central well featuring a detailed scene of the Nativity with a diamond representing the Star of Bethlehem, the whole depicted within an eight-pointed star, and banner reading "When They Had Opened Their Treasures They Presented Unto Him Gifts Gold And Frankincense And Myrrh," the underside inscribed "Saint Paul's Parish Baltimore, Easter 1876," and "This Alms Basin together with six Collection Plates and a small Communion Service all bearing the same date is made from jewels, Gold and Silver contributed by the Congregation of Saint Paul's Parish at an Offering on Saint Paul's Day Anno Domini 1874;" 3 in.
