Stepped petal foot, with applied diamond clusters, one in the shape of a cross with eleven Old European cut diamonds of approximately 3.50 ctw, one within a gold foliate setting with seven Old European cut diamonds of 2.00 ctw, and two clusters of seven Old European cut diamonds of 2.00 ctw and 2.50 ctw; the finely chased knopped standard with an applied oval amethyst and four oval pink tourmalines, under a gold border, and supporting a bowl; the underside inscribed "To the Glory of God and in loving memory of William Wallace Taylor, Marie Williams Greenway and children; the accompanying paten inscribed on the underside "Saint Paul's Parish, Baltimore, Easter 1876;" chalice is 8 1/2 in. H, 17.45 ozt. total weight, paten is 5 in. Diam., 4.45 ozt.
Condition
Without dents, splits or repairs. The setting of the amethyst missing four pieces of applied filigree, some replaced and some with tiny dents/splits. The interior of the cup with tiny spots of pitting. Comes within a fitted case
