Description
Official letter of the Privy Council, dated at Whitehall, November 28, 1599, ordering Thomas Sackville, Lord Buckhurst, to disburse money to outfit a ship about to depart from the port of Falmouth, signed by five members of the Council, including Lord Buckhurst (who also added an order at lower left for Skynner to issue the money); Charles Howard, 1st Earl of Nottingham and Lord High Admiral; Sir Thomas Egerton, Lord Chancellor; Sir John Fortesque, Chancellor of the Exchequer; Sir Roger North, 2nd Baron North; and Robert Cecil, 1st Earl of Salisbury and 1st Viscount Cranborne; 1 page, folio, 12 1/2 x 8 1/2 in.
Condition
Some edge wear and creasing; address rather dusted, paper adhering along the center fold (relic of former mounting in an album)
