William Hemsley (1737 - 1812, resident of Queen Anne's Co., Md., served in various military and elected posts during the Revolution, including as Continental Congressman, 1782-3, and as a Md. State Senator during much of the war period) autograph letter, signed, dated December 26, 1799, with notation from Centreville post office; to James McEvers in New York, conveying a check; 1 p., 4to, 9 x 7 1/2 in., with docketing by McEvers on the integral address leaf.
