Simon Bradstreet (1603-1697, Governor of Massachusetts Bay Colony, 1679-'86 and 1689--'92) document, signed, dated at Boston, February 21, 1683: the complaint of Samuel Shrimpton, a Boston merchant, against Charles Gilman, a New Jersey colonist, for failing to pay for items bought in July of 1682. The document contains an extract from Shrimpton's ledger, with a signed 11-line inscription by Bradstreet, and 5 lines of notary by Robert Howard. 1 p. folio.
