George Washington (1732-1799, Commander in Chief of the Continental Army, First President of the United States) part-printed discharge document signed as Commander in Chief, Newburgh, NY, June 8, 1783, to Sergeant William Harris, 1st NY Regt., with special commendation for 7 years of faithful service, and countersigned by Lt. Col. Cornelius Van Dyck, Adjutant J. H. Wendell, and Col. Jonathan Trumbull; 1 sheet folio, printed on both sides (handwritten portions on recto only).
