Richard Peters (1744-1828, lawyer and soldier, for most of the war, Secretary of the Continental Board of War) autograph letter, signed, April 3, 1779, to Joseph Reed (1741-1785, lawyer, soldier, President of the Pennsylvania Assembly); 1 p., folio, with additional integral cover sheet, 10 7/8 x 8 5/8 in., concerning protocols for requisitioning supplies (which Reed apparently did not follow) and declining to issue commissions to two new officers, whose ranks were not specified.
Condition
Light intersecting folds; light toning; in a heavier paper window mount, slightly damaged at left edge
