Socket bayonet for a Brown Bess musket, the blade stamped "John Gill" (British contractor, active 1808-1828): tapered three-edged blade with fullers on lower surfaces, 15 1/2 in. L.; socket with three-step slot; 20 1/2 in. L. overall.
