Description
New Jersey militia Wilson fusil found at Sabbath Day Point where an ambush and massacre occurred in July 1757. Together with a partial cartridge box and lead balls; and a map, "The Country Between Crown Point and Albany, being the Great Pass from the English to the French Settlements in North America," circa 1759 (similar to the map published in Gentleman's Magazine, but with different title), engraving with old hand coloring, 7 3/8 x 4 3/8 in., trimmed to edge of plate.

The firearm as is.

The brass butt plate is clearly marked, "NEW JERSEY" and underneath, "No. 359."
