London, 2nd quarter 19th century, retailed by H. Duren, New York; ebony frame with brass mounts, 11 1/2 in. L.; with original oak case, bearing mid-19th Century label of A. Stowell, instrument retailer, Baltimore. Reportedly belonged to Capt. Oliver Moses of Baltimore, and with brass label to that effect.
