Description
All early 20th century, comprising a fabric and leather bag covered with seed beads, 8 1/2 x 5 3/4 in.; a small brown leather bag with beaded floral design on both sides, 3 1/2 x 3 1/4 in.; and a small white leather bag with red, white and green wheel design on one side, 3 1/4 x 2 1/2 in.; each item in a lucite shadowbox frame.
Provenance
The largest bag has a certificate stating that it descended in the McGinity family, pharmacists in East Baltimore. Two Guns White Calf (1872-1934) was a Piegan Blackfeet chief and reportedly model for the Indian nickel. He attended the Fair of the Iron Horse in Baltimore in 1927. Dr. McGinity befriended him and gave him medicine (presumably for tuberculosis). In return, White Calf sent him a collection of memorabilia which remained in the family until sold at auction in 1989.
