Emblematic of their high presentational style, this large bulbous kettle is finely modeled in high-relief genre and landscape scenes, the hinged domed cover with figural finial of a man smoking a pipe, surrounded by a landscape scene, the handle with telemon and scroll detail, scroll and foliate terminals, foliate-capped griffin spout, with grotesque masque base and terminal, the openwork stand draping female masque and floral swags, the three caryatid legs, on ball-and-claw feet; 17 3/4 in. H, 116.3 ozt.
