Charles Morris (later a Sec. of Navy) concerning documentation of requisitions, with free-franked integral cover; 2) Samuel Lewis Southard (1787-1842) as Sec. of Navy, June 14, 1824, J. H. Ladd & Co., concerning a large draft which was protested and only partially paid; 3) Commodore Charles Morris (1784-1856) as Secretary, May 22, 1826, to Capt. Charles H. Ridgely, referring to Commissioners Bainbridge and Jones; and 4) Mahlon Dickerson (1770-1853) as Secretary, May 30, 1836, to Comm. Wm. M. Crane, conveying an officer's request for discharge, together with that officer's letter detailing his disability.
