The reverse still has luster on this coin from the old west only marred by some hairlines and an old wipe. Scarce as regular coins are concerned, the 51,000 mintage of a Carson City 5 $5 made it one of the more common ones. The capital of Nevada, Carson City started to boom when silver and gold was found at the Comstock Lode and it is truly a coin of the Old West
