Description
Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley, color concert poster, Avalon Ballroom, San Francisco, CA, 8/12/1966, FD-21, (OP-1), sight size: 19 3/4 x 13 3/4 in., framed size: 26 x 19 3/4 inches.
Of this work Glen Trosch states, "If you assemble a list of the five most favorite Family Dog Designs from 1966 this is sure to EASILY appear on most collector lists. This Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley classic Avalon poster depicts the devastation from the Great Earthquake, one of the most important events in California history. The FD-21 is one of the hardest Family Dog posters to find in ANY condition. There were only 1 000 original first printings of this Earthquake Avalon issue. Survival rates for this piece are low and the FD-21 seldom surfaces at public auction. This issue always ends up at the TOP of our list when discussing which Family Dog issues are the most undervalued."
