Part-Printed Commission to Andrew B. Jackson as Register of the Land Office at Menasha, Wisconsin, April 22, 1861, with a clear signature of Lincoln, lower right, countersigned by Caleb B. Smith, Secretary of the Interior; vellum with engraved text completed in ink by hand and with Interior's impressed seal, 13 5/8 x 18 in. visible, in a handsome archival standard frame. Together with original discharge certificate issued to Jackson for service as a 2nd Lieut. in the 42nd Regiment of Wisconsin Infantry, June, 1865; and a printed broadside advertising a public debate between Jackson and another individual on political issues, July 24, 1856.
Condition
Commission has been folded into eighths, not affecting Lincoln's signature; otherwise very fresh and bright. Broadside is separating along the folds
