19th century or earlier, comprising a blade with slightly wavy temper line; fitted with a gilt copper habaki, 12 in. L, 11/8 in. D at the hilt; the tang bears an inscription on either side, 4 5/8 in. L. The handle with shakudo fuchi and menuki, 4 3/4 in. L. Small iron tsuba, with gold inlay. Scabbard with black lacquer, finish, 12 5/8 in. L
Condition
Considerable nicking at the tip of the blade. Lacquered cap and part of the opening for the kotsuka missing
