19th century or earlier, comprising a straight tapered blade with chisel-like section and a suguha temper line; fitted with a gilt metal habaki, 7 3/4 in. L, 5/8 in. D at the hilt; the tang, with three holes, bears a partly obscured inscription, 2 11/16 in. L. The handle composed of shakudo, with gold and silver inlay, partly wrapped in cord, 3 in. L. Sheath with black lacquer and subtle maki-e, with shakudo mounts matching the handle, 8 3/8 in. L
