Description
Minted in Peru (Modern Day Bolivia) at the Potosi mint where the mountain of silver provided for silver coins for over 200 years. This was listed in the collection as being from the 1641 Plate Fleet wreck, i.e. Nuestra Señora de la Concepcion. The reverse with the cross is well preserved and most of the obverse shield is present. The weight is 26.6 grams and it shows some shipwreck effects of the ocean

This 8 real cob was identified in the collection as being from the 1641 Plate Fleet wreck, i.e. Nuestra Señora de la Concepcion - There is no COA with the coin. 99% silver via x-ray fluorescence testing
