Provenance
Consignor states the painting was acquired from Charles Louis Tiffany II as a gift to John S. Buc, grandfather of the consignor. John S. Buc served as Mr Tiffany's estate supervisor in the 1920's and the painting was stored in a barn on Mr. Tiffany's estate in Oyster Bay, Long Island. Mr. Buc possessed the painitng until 1966 when it was passed on to his daughter who owned it until 2017, when it was given to her daughter, who is in possession of it currently.
Painting has been examined by Sotheby's and determined worthy for sale. Copy of email of intent for sale at Sotheby's, signed by Thomas Denzler, Senior Vice President of Paintings, Prints and Photographs included.
