Comprising a letter from W.H. Kurtz, Deputy Attorney General in York, PA, to Dr. J. Sappington of Liberty Town, MD, March 20, 1834, regarding William Parker, Sappington's runaway slave, who upon capture had maimed himself; a draft of Sappington's response, March 30; an earlier list by Sappington of his slaves, including William Parker, with terms after which they would be free; a list in another hand of items to be given to another slave, George Butcher and Milly (Presumably his wife), with a note that George H. Butcher should be freed at the age of 10; and a lease for three slaves for various terms before manumission to Col. Richard Coale, dated October 9, 1846
