Early 19th century: part octagon barrel smoothly transitioning to round, 65 calibre, with a bead front sight, no apparent marks, 35 in. L.; Lock plate made by Ketland & Co., marked in script and further stamped "UNITED STATES" in two straight lines; originally flintlock, converted to percussion, c. 1830; curly maple three-quarter stock with Roman nose-shaped butt and small carved cheek rest, with brass trigger guard and butt plate; ramrod; 50 3/4" overall.
