Inscribed with the initials "E. L. R." near the butt, and with incised initials "W B" on the wooden butt cover (owner unidentified, appears to be French and Indian War period, c.1760) the wider part of the horn engraved all around with a stylized view of the town of Albany, a sailboat, birds, and stylized plants; cow horn, left thicker at the butt end, fitted with a domed wooden cover on the butt, centering a post and loop suspender, 8 in. L.
Condition
A crack extends from the butt most of the way to the mouth
