1st half 19th century: heavy octagonal barrel, inscribed "H. Carlile" on top, about .45 calibre, with front and rear sights, 44 in. L.; flint ignition, set triggers, the plate marked "W / Ketland / & Co.;" curly maple full stock with incised decoration, brass butt plate, patch box, trigger guard, ramrod guides, and nose; smoke decorated wooden ramrod; 59 in. L. overall.
Condition
Stock broken at the wrist and repaired with brass plates during period of service. Muzzle end of the stock with cracks. Front tang of trigger guard broken and roughly glued in place
